May is known as the Month of our blessed mother Mary. We giver her a whole month to honor her, because of her great gift of her “Fiat” to the world.
I remember fondly the days of May Crownings at St. William’s in Marion. She always looked so pretty decked out in flowers with a crown of flowers upon her head.
Mary has a special place in my life thanks to my Mother and Grandmother fostering a devotion to her in my siblings and I.
Now as a Seminarian I find that I have an increased devotion to her. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t ask for her intercession and support. Fr. Bob, our rector always says that Mary is our real rector. That she is just great and so wonderful!
Building up my spiritual life throughout my first year of Seminary, I have decided that I am going to do the 33 Day Consecration to Mary. I will be starting it next Tuesday, so that I can finish on the Feast of her Immaculate Heart. Please pray that all goes well with it. I also ask that you entrust all of the seminarians here at Bishop Bruté to our Lady as we start finals next week.
May our Lady the Queen of the May intercede to God on all of our behalf’s as we “bring her flowers of the rarest”…
