This morning we celebrated Mass at the Church of the primacy of St. Peter in an outdoor amphitheater along the shore of the Sea of Galilee. The sun was shining and the birds were singing along with our seminarians – it was so beautiful to hear these 24 male voices all singing together, praising God and testifying to the way our friendship with Christ binds us so deeply in our friendship for one another. This is the very place where Jesus made breakfast for the Apostles after his resurrection; the place where these fishermen – obeying the voice of Jesus caught so many fish that it strained their nets.
It is the place where Peter made up for denying Jesus three times by declaring his love for the Lord three times; and promised to feed his sheep. It occurred to me today that this is the very life that our…
